Psalms 40:1-2

“In the pit of our utmost despair, God, in His perfect timing, will set us on solid ground…and we can be thankful during each phase of a difficult time because we know He will forever be our help and our deliverer.”

We just have to put our trust in Him. In my darkest times of despair over losing Vail, missing her, crying for Jade, wanting to turn back the clock to a time where our family was whole, God ALWAYS fills me with peace and shows me...it’s OK. We are ok...Vail is with Him...

Isaiah 26:3

“So peace is only found in trust, trust of the One who is in careful control of all the things that tend to rob you of your peace. He knows, He understands, He is in control of what appears to be chaos, He is never surprised, He is never confused, He never worries or loses a nights sleep, He never walks off the job to take a rest, He never gets too busy with one thing that He neglects another, and HE NEVER PLAYS FAVORITES.” Yay! 💚this....from New Morning Mercies

II Corinthians 12:9

His power is made perfect in our weaknesses.

I am so guilty of not relying on His strength and power. It’s probably something we all fail at. You are not alone and I am not alone. Let’s know the truth of His Word. God is faithful, and He will give us a means of escape from our temptations and we can trust that His strength will help us endure turning from them.

We show our faith by our actions. We can tell others about what Christ has done for us by how we act, how we love, how we understand, how we have patience...💚

“The DNA of joy is thankfulness. Have you noticed that entitled, complaining people don’t happen to be very joyful?”

“If my heart is ever going to be freed of grumbling and ruled by gratitude, I need God’s grace...

Grace that produces a heart of humble joy.” 💚💚💚

Ephesians 4:17

Why do we treat those closest to us the worst???🤔🤔🤔

“As believers, we are called to show our love for God by selflessly loving others. While this is contrary to our sinful nature, it is the very thing that distinguishes believers from unbelievers.

We have many opportunities to demonstrate this principle to the people closest to us—our families. Unfortunately, we often use our intimate knowledge to manipulate each other, pursuing what we want rather than showing God's character through us. “

Ephesians 2:8-10

“Faith isn’t natural for you and me...”
Anxiously wishing for change in things that you have no ability to change is natural.
Giving way to despondency, discouragement, depression or despair is natural.
Numbing yourself with busyness, material things, media, food, or some other substance is natural.
Lowering your standards to deal with disappointment is natural.”

God gives us the power to believe, then gives us grace. He rewards those who seek Him in every situation.

1 Timothy 6:6-12

Sin “causes us to look horizontally for what can only ever be found vertically.” In short, we look to the things of this world to satisfy us, when only God and the promise of eternity can do that.

“So we look to creation for life, hope, peace, rest, contentment, identity, meaning and purpose, inner peace, and motivation to continue. The problem is that nothing in creation can give you those things. Creation was never designed to satisfy your heart.

See, God created all of these things on the earth in order to point us to Him. Creation cannot be our savior. Only God can save us and satisfy us forever.

John 14:27

“Fear is a natural reaction to the sin-ridden world that we are living in. Elections, financial instability, broken relationships, failed expectations and more guide us to a place of fear and usually end in a place of unbelief. We question why. Why would God have it be this way when certainly He is able to intervene and certainly He is able to make things better?

The liberating truth is that none of it matters, but Him.” YouVersion

Sometimes we go through hardships and I believe they are reminders for us to stay focused on God and eternity, and not to dwell on the things of this earth. It’s not always easy, and we have to be in constant communication with God throughout our days to keep our minds right. Easier said than done sometimes.

Psalms 42:8-11

When you are in a season of struggle, take the time to follow through with the “I will” statements.

When you wake up in the morning, remind yourself “I will” begin my day with prayer.

When you are struggling, remember to say “I will” praise God regardless of my circumstances.

Remember to say, “I will spend time in the Word of God.” God is good sisters; His grace is sufficient and the valley is only temporary.” Thank God The valleys are only temporary. I can say from experience that the valleys seem to have no climb out sometimes. Hang on, God will lift you out. You are ok. You are ok

I could not have said this any better...💚💚

“God is with you in your moments of darkness because He will never leave you. But your darkness isn’t dark to Him. Your mystery isn’t mysterious to him. Your surprises don’t surprise Him. He understands all the things that confuse you the most. Not only are your mystery is not mysterious to Him, but He is in complete charge of all that is mysterious to you and me.” - Paul David Tripp

If God has already granted you a place in eternity, and he also has granted you all the grace you need along the way, or you would never get there. There is grace for our fickle and easily distracted hearts. There is a rescue for our self absorption and lack of focus.

The God of eternity grants you his eternal grace so that you can live with eternity in view.

Forgive...in 2019, choose to forgive. Once we let go of bitterness, a whole lot of other issues will resolve themselves in our lives...thus not needing to “resolve” them in the new year.

“Christ lived a sinless life, but still died on the cross. I don’t think anything we could ever experience on this earth justifies us enough to not forgive and allow bitterness to take root. Compared to what our Lord went through, everything else pales in comparison. He was not bitter, though He probably had every right to be. Jesus forgave them all.”

AMEN! 💚🙏💚🙏💚🙏💚 thank God I am forgiven!

John 1:16

I’ve been thinking a lot about New Year’s resolutions. As I started to tear down my crispy dead tree, I felt an overwhelming sadness at the end of a very emotional season, another Christmas come and gone.

So....this year, my resolution is to strive to make every day feel like Christmas Day. I want to live in thankfulness for God sending Christ Jesus to the earth as a baby to take away our sins through living His sinless life and overcoming His brutal death.

I want to live each day thankful for our friends and family. At Christmas we stop and spend extra time with those we love and text and call those we can’t see. When we lose someone we love, at Christmas time, especially, we see the importance of taking the time to stop and love.

I want to live each day in awe of creation...the beauty around us that, like Christmas lights, catch our eyes and fill us with a warm awe of wonder.

I want to give...at Christmas, we all have a heightened generosity...we buy for the Angel tree, we fill shoeboxes with gifts for kids all over the world, we give gifts to our closest loved ones to show them we love them to the moon and back.
